Saint Kilian Parish School is pleased to offer registered students in 3rd through 8th grade the opportunity to play soccer. Our co-ed programs run twice a year in the fall and spring, within the Diocese of Pittsburgh. Practice is typically held once a week and games are typically played on weekends (unless otherwise scheduled depending on the team being played within the diocese).

2nd and 3rd Grade Soccer

Our2nd and 3rd grade teams are developmental in nature and will focus on developing the player and their skills while preparing them for the field. We usually practice once a week and participate in games on the weekends.   The team is co-ed as are all the diocese teams and the 3rd squad will play on a 8 v 8 field to assist in development of their skills.  Second grade is generally 6 v 6.

Our belief as coaches is to provide a positive experience to all the children on the team and rotate them in for play on the field. The coaches will dedicate their time for practice, games, and tournaments throughout the season and we value each coach's participation in this sport. Saint Kilian will be a hosting school for soccer games for this age group and we look forward to playing our diocese parishes in the area.

4th Grade Soccer

Our 4th grade team will focus on continuing to develop the player and their skills while preparing them for the field. We usually practice once a week and participate in games on the weekends.  The co-ed squad will play on a 8 v 8 field against other schools in the diocese.  This preparation at the 4th grade level will provide the athletes with additional skills and prepares and conditions the team for more competitive squads in the future.

Junior Varsity - 5th and 6th Grade Soccer

The 5th grade team will become part of the Junior Varsity program for the school and the diocese which consists of 5 th and 6 th graders.

This team is much more competitive than the 3rd and 4th grade teams and we will play Section Games versus other schools. At this level, points, wins/losses are kept and rankings are developed and maintained at the Diocese office. A weekly practice and weekend games are expected and a set number of games will have to be played for ranking purposes. Tournaments will be played based upon our win/loss ratio and our ability to play in this tournament is determined by this and only this method. In addition, rosters are created for this level which requires additional commitment from the players and families. Rosters are submitted to the diocese at the end of July for the fall season and the end of February for the spring season.

Directions to the fields can be found on the DSL website. You may also find the section standings and the game scores as the season develops.
